The Mayan World
offer adventurous travelers a remarkable variety
of experiences, all packed into the relatively
short span of our 8-day journey. These elements
combine to make travel there unforgettable.
First, there is the wildlife. Middleamerica is a
crossroads for wildlife of the temperate north
and the tropical south. But unlike many of
Earth’s tropical regions, Chiapas, Guatemala and
Honduras still has large tracts of primary
rainforest, preserving many rare and colorful
species, including a thriving population of
jaguar. We also see huge iguanas sunning
themselves along green crystalline rivers and
howler monkeys roaring in the high jungle canopy.
Another key element is the magnificent palaces
and temples left behind by the Maya. While
Europe slumbered through the Dark Ages, the Maya
were mastering astronomy and mathematics. Their
monuments, foremost among them the grand
pyramids of Palenque, Yaxchilan, Bonampak, Tikal,
Quirigua and Copan rise above the luxuriant
forests
Our itinerary, planned and refined over years of
continuos weekly operations and over 5 thousand
satisfied customers, combines these elements in
splendid fashion, allowing you to see the most
compelling spots and stay in the finest
accommodations.
